Philanthropic Priorities

Building upon Hun's exceptional education requires extensive resources. Endowed funds and capital gifts provide a reliable source of income and allow the School to continue investing in the excellence of its campus, faculty, and student opportunities. These gifts help provide a stable foundation and strengthen our mission for generations to come.

Endowed Funds

Endowed funds are a permanent source of income for The Hun School, benefiting students for generations to come. Endowed gifts can be restricted to a specific purpose by the donor, or left unrestricted to be used at the discretion of the School. Hun is committed to growing its endowed resources, and seeks to increase funding available for academics and student leadership, athletics, admissions, financial aid, faculty, and teaching support.

Facility Updates

STEM

These large, flexible, open lab spaces have been designed for multidisciplinary collaboration. Outfitted with cutting-edge technology and communications systems, these labs will inspire students to explore their creativity, ethical decision making, and problem solving skills in a cooperative, project based environment.

Theatre

This renovated performing arts space includes modern light and sound boards, a scene shop, dressing rooms, and a rear lobby and theatre entrance. With twenty-four theatre, music, and dance productions each year, the new theatre will prepare students for their next level of performance and production.

Theatre and STEM projects will be completed in September of 2021.

A REIMAGINED INFIRMARY

As we prepare students to thrive in an ever-changing world, we recognize that health and wellness are essential to our students’ success. We are committed to providing a campus environment where mental and physical well-being is paramount, and this includes evolving our programs and facilities that keep our students healthy and safe during their time on campus.  A new infirmary, envisioned in a converted space across the hall from its current location, will allow for the following necessary enhancements: a reception area and waiting room, overnight rooms for ill or injured students requiring supervision, isolation rooms, a restroom, fully equipped exam and treatment rooms, an appropriate office space for our nurses, and accommodations for an overnight nurse to care for admitted students.

CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

Enhancing the student experience through state-of-the-art STEM labs, a gorgeous theater and performing arts center, as well as an infirmary for our students, are the final parts of the largest campaign in Hun School history. See stories below for progress along the way.
