Meet the actor filling big shoes for Lehigh football in chase of title: Donavon Harris '15
Lehigh Valley Live
Aside from being a cornerback on the football team, Donavon Harris '15 is a budding actor with plans to audition next week for "Clybourne Park," a spinoff of "A Raisin in the Sun" that the Lehigh Theatre Department will put on in the spring. Last year, Harris scored a big role in "Gem of the Ocean," and many of his teammates came out to see the play. This year, it just so happens the auditions line up with the bye week.
Harris' interest in the arts stems from his senior year at The Hun School, when he was looking for something new to do after he had already committed to Lehigh. "I auditioned for a play, got the role, and I was like, all right, this is something I really like, seeing the other side of things, seeing how people work just as hard as I work in football, for producing a play and acting in a play," Harris said. "That really excited me. I get the same adrenaline rush being on stage as I do on third down."
