New Jersey Boarding School

Our Program is big. Our community is small.

Boarding school is an opportunity to dig more deeply into your education, but also into your development as an individual. Living away from home, you will build confidence and independence, and academic opportunities specifically for residents will help you maintain the highest possible level of academic achievement as you prepare for college and life.

At The Hun School, the Resident Program is designed to facilitate that discovery and achievement.  The personal relationships that develop between our resident faculty and our students, between our students and each other, are the foundation for that discovery.
You’ll be immersed in an atmosphere where every student is encouraged to try new things, explore the world of possibilities available at The Hun School, and discover new interests and hidden talents.
The size of our boarding program is one in a series of carefully designed elements to provide comfort and community; to foster growth and independence. Ours is a thriving, diverse culture, where students from all over the world come together to become active, engaged members of our community.

What to Expect From Hun Boarding School

Students and parents alike often comment that The Hun School is vastly unique in its approach and culture. Our Resident Program fosters an environment of academic and cultural richness. It's a place where students can both learn and relax among friends, and it's led by exceptional faculty members who take the time to get to know students and make them feel like a part of The Hun School family.

Academic life at our private New Jersey boarding school is as fun as it is educational. From remotely participating in open-heart surgery to role-playing as some of history's most fascinating historical leaders, students receive exciting hands-on learning opportunities that enrich their understanding of the world around them.

When you choose our Resident Program, you'll continue to enjoy these learning opportunities even after classes have ended for the day. Evening study halls and Resident Coaching encourage students to challenge themselves outside the classroom while also fostering meaningful relationships with both peers and staff members.

Resident Coaching allows students to ask questions and deepen their understanding of a subject through one-on-one interactions with a faculty member. Through this program, as well as through informal meetings in the dormitory halls, our master teachers are available during evening hours when residents are working on their studies to answer pressing questions as they arise. We pride ourselves on this kind of personalized care and attention for each student beyond what they would typically receive at a traditional school.

But education isn't the only focus of our NJ boarding school. You'll find a thrilling array of after-school and weekend activities[MOU1]  that make The Hun School and the surrounding Princeton community truly feel like a home away from home. From educational trips to Broadway plays and world-renowned museums to fun excursions to the movies and laser tag, each of our activities is designed to enhance classroom learning while giving students an outlet to relax and make lasting memories and friendships.
