Social Activities

In the Hun Middle School, we believe a strong school culture doesn’t happen by accident — it’s built through meaningful shared experiences and intentional community-building. Throughout the year, students enjoy a variety of tech-free social events designed to help them connect, unwind, and have fun together beyond the classroom.

These gatherings are an important part of our students’ social and emotional growth, giving them opportunities to build friendships, strengthen confidence, and create lasting memories in a supportive environment. With enthusiastic teachers and mentors on hand, students can relax, be themselves, and simply enjoy being part of the community.

Here are some of the Middle School social events we typically host on Friday evenings throughout the school year:

  • Game Night
  • Bowling Night at Colonial Bowling
  • Gingerbread House Decorating/Community Service Night
  • Class Trips to NYC, Hersheypark, The Franklin Institute, Edelman Fossil Park & Museum, and More
  • Ski and Snowboarding at Montage Mountain
  • Dances (Semi-Formal and Spirit)
  • Field Day

Middle School
Arts Requirement

Developing students’ confidence and creativity as performers and presenters is an important part of the Hun Middle School experience. That’s why the arts are woven into the curriculum, giving students opportunities to explore, practice, and showcase the skills they build in collaboration with our art, music, and technology teachers. Students can choose to study band, orchestra, chorus, theater, or visual art. These classes meet during the school day for a full semester each. Depending on their interests, students can choose to take band, orchestra, chorus, or theater for a full year, or they can split up their time between one music class and one visual arts class.

Middle School
Athletics Requirement

Additionally, all students are required to participate in three seasons of athletics or wellness activities. At the heart of the Middle School athletic program is skills development, but careful attention is also placed on the development of sportsmanship concepts, team cooperation, and self-confidence.

Athletics and wellness activities offered at the Middle School level are:

  • Baseball/Softball
  • Basketball
  • Conditioning/Physical Education
  • Cross Country
  • Dance
  • Field Hockey
  • Lacrosse
  • Robotics
  • Soccer
  • Tennis
  • Track and Field
  • Yoga
