The Hun School’s Board of Trustees is responsible for selecting and hiring the next Head of School. Board Chair Steve Wills and Executive Committee Member Christiana Foglio appointed a Search Committee, representative of all campus constituents, to recruit and recommend a candidate to the Board of Trustees. Through the course of their work, which began in January 2022 and commenced in May of 2022, they engaged RG175 as well as a wide variety of subcommittees to advise them. 

The Hun School Board of Trustees retained the support of Resource Group 175, a global educational leadership firm, to guide our search and ensure a successful outcome. RG175 consultants are experienced in identifying candidates whose skills and educational vision specifically align with a school’s unique strengths and goals. The firm consists of sixteen highly successful, long-serving former heads of school, who continue to be leaders in the independent school world. Their success rate speaks for itself – 96% of heads placed in the last five years remain at their respective schools. In addition, forty-eight percent have been women, and 20% are people of color. RG175 consultants Tom Olverson, Arlyce Seibert, and John Farber worked directly with Hun's Search Committee. 

Tom Olverson has spent thirty-eight years working in independent schools, with twenty-seven as a head of school. He has served as vice-president of the Hawaii Association of Independent Schools, president of the Independent School League, one of three community members of the Ethics Advisory Committee at Children’s Hospital, Boston, and a trustee at Tenacre Country Day School in Wellesley. He presently serves as a trustee at Carolina Day School. He has written numerous articles for independent school publications and has shared his views on independent school leadership through the RG175 blog. In his six years at RG175, Mr. Olverson has completed eighteen head of school searches and two divisional searches. He is a magna cum laude graduate of Duke University and earned his masters at The College of William and Mary.

Arlyce Seibert began her teaching career at Cranbrook Schools in Michigan. She has served in a variety of roles since then including director of schools at Cranbrook. In July 2006, Mrs. Seibert was designated as an outstanding head of school by The Klingenstein Center for Independent School Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. Ms. Seibert is presently a member of the Headmasters Association, the oldest heads of schools organization in the country. She is the former chair of the ISACS Board of Directors, and is a founding member of the Global Online Academy Board of Directors. Mrs. Seibert served on the Board of Trustees of Eton Academy and the executive board of the Association of Independent Michigan Schools, for which she previously served as president for four years. She currently serves as president-general of Cum Laude. Mrs. Seibert holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from the University of Detroit and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Oakland University.

John Farber is the managing director at RG175 and will join Mr. Olverson and Ms. Seibert on the visiting team in January. Mr. Farber has forty years of independent school experience (both boarding and day), including twenty years as a head of school – seventeen at Old Trail School and four at South Kent School. He has also served as an admissions and advancement directors. Mr. Farber served an eleven year term as on the Board of the Independent Schools Association of the Central States, including three years as board chair, and was president of the Cleveland Consortium of Independent Schools and a board member of the Ohio Association of Independent Schools. He is well known in the independent school community for his skills in board governance, strategic thinking, fundraising, and personnel management. He currently serves on the board the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and is an emeritus trustee for South Kent School. Mr. Farber graduated from Trinity University and holds a Masters in Guidance and Counseling from Antioch University.

Christiana Foglio is in her third year as a member of The Hun School’s Board of Trustees and will co-chair the School’s search for the next head of school. She is the founder, owner, and chief executive officer of Community Investment Strategies, a fully integrated real estate firm specializing in multi-family housing, mixed-use redevelopment, market-rate and affordable housing. Mrs. Foglio has more than thirty years of experience in the public and private sectors, commercial real estate development, and affordable housing initiatives. CIS is a woman-owned business enterprise, committed to promoting gender and ethnic diversity throughout its organization as well as the communities it develops. Prior to forming CIS, she served on behalf of two New Jersey governors as executive director of the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency. In this role, she was responsible for more than $1 billion in multi-family bond financing and creating the state’s Housing Policy. She also served as chairperson of the New Jersey Council on Affordable Housing. Mrs. Foglio holds a Bachelor of arts in Economics and a Masters in City Regional Planning from Rutgers University. She serves on the Board of Trustees at Rutgers University and previously was chair of the Board of Trustees at Chapin School. She and her husband Doug are the parents of Hun alumna Laila ’21.

Steve Wills is in his third year as chair of The Hun School Board of Trustees and will partner with Mrs. Foglio as co-chair of the Search Committee. He is the chief financial officer and chief operating officer of Palatin Technologies, a publicly-held biopharmaceutical company developing targeted, receptor-specific therapeutics. Prior to his role with Palatin, Mr. Wills served as executive chairman of Derma Sciences and prior to that, president and chief operating officer of Golomb, Wills, and Company, P.C., a public accounting firm. As board chair at The Hun School, Mr. Wills has been heavily invested in the School’s advancement, providing guidance and leadership in the areas of human resources, finances, and operations. In addition to his role as board chair at Hun, Mr. Wills serves on the Board of Trustees of MediWound Ltd. He holds a  Bachelor of Science from West Chester University and a Master of Science from Temple University. He and his wife Gwen are the parents of three Hun School graduates: Brian ’07, Kaley ’13, and Brent ’18.

The Head of School Search Committee was appointed in January of 2022. The Committee is composed of individuals from all School constituencies, who have a demonstrated commitment to the long-term strategic direction of Hun. These trusted individuals also assembled advisory committees for each constituency. Together, they engaged in a thoughtful and transparent process to identify, recruit, and recommend the best candidate for Head of School to the School's Board of Trustees. Based on community feedback, their own skills and experiences, the Committee provided direction to RG175 on the development of a position description; reviewed application materials for qualified and promising candidates; interviewed semi-final and final candidates; participated in due diligence; and ultimately made a recommendation to The Hun School's Board of Trustees.
