Arts at Hun

At Hun, we give imagination a place to flourish.

Performing and visual art are components of a meaningful education. Every day, we help students find and cultivate outlets for their personal expression, from throwing a pot on a wheel, to belting out a tune on stage, to mastering a piece on the violin.

Arts education teaches us about ourselves and others in a way no other discipline can. By engaging in artistic exploration, the talented students and faculty in our arts programs develop their artistic skill as well as emotional intelligence, and cultural insight. Two of our broadest academic and extra-curricular departments, our visual and performing arts programs offer opportunities for beginners, explorers, and aspiring professional artists.

Performing Arts

Whether you arrive at Hun with a violin under your arm or you just like hanging around theatre people, our Performing Arts Program has something for you. Choose from one of 16 academic courses including three levels of Theatre, Playwriting, Chorus, and American Pop, or spend your afternoons rehearsing with one of our 11 performance ensembles, including jazz band, girls’ and boys’ a cappella, or the Janus Players.

Visual Arts

Visual Arts classes at Hun teach students to think like artists: to explore the world with a sense of curiosity, to seek innovative solutions to problems, and to cultivate an outlet for creative self-expression. Student artists have 30 academic disciplines from which to choose. Never a group to be kept in a “box,” a.k.a. gallery, student art is displayed and celebrated throughout our campus.
