A successful weekend draws hundreds to campus!

Hun Alumni Weekend 2019 brought nearly 600 alumni and guests to campus on April 26th and 27th to reflect on their time as students, catch up, and hear about the School’s latest accomplishments and plans for the future. Alumni shared a great many humorous and endearing memories about their time here, from camaraderie felt among teammates to the caring attention their teachers and coaches gave them.

“Life changes, and life stays the same,” said Headmaster Jonathan Brougham at a State of the School address. “We’re still very much the Hun you know.”

Friday night brought an abundance of good feeling under the tent behind Russell Hall as four alumni were inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame, and two beloved Hun institutions became honorary alumnae. The annual Run for Kate, Golden H Brunch, State of the School address, art show, and a panel discussion on cultural competency took place Saturday morning. Tailgating and community continued behind the Grant M. Shipley ’42 Pavilion throughout the day.

Saturday night was one of friendship, feasting, and fun, as alumni enjoyed dinner and dancing in the tent behind Russell Hall. A crowd of more than 350 alumni and guests, spanning seventy years of graduating classes, reunited and reveled.

The years do add up, but they seem a lot shorter when you reconnect on campus with old friends, all would agree. Save the Date: Alumni Weekend 2020 will be held April 17 - 18th. See you then!
