Carl Jackson ’94
Carl Jackson lettered in five varsity sports at Hun: fencing, football, soccer, indoor track, and lacrosse. He was on the 1993 Prep State Championship football team, for which he received the Hatchet Award and New Jersey’s Second Team All-State honors. A co-captain for both fencing and lacrosse, he won the 1994 USFA Individual Epee New Jersey State Championships, placed twelfth in the USFA Junior Olympics/Nationals, and helped secure the 1994 Bianchi Division Championship in lacrosse. As an epee fencer at the University of Notre Dame, Mr. Jackson received two All-American honors, earned collegiate MVP awards, and contributed to five consecutive Mid-Western Collegiate team championships, helping the team to top-three finishes at the NCAA Championships. Mr. Jackson then enlisted in the U.S. Army Intelligence Corps, completing five deployments to Afghanistan, and co-creating the Medina United Football Club, a U.S. multi-service team promoting positive international relations. He currently serves as a divisional deputy technical director in the Department of Defense. He holds a B.A. in Sociology, a diploma from the Defense Language Institute, a B.A. in Criminal Justice, and an M.S. in Quality Systems Management. Mr. Jackson, who mentors future professionals, is a dedicated volunteer with the Catholic Knights of Columbus and Redrum Motorcycle Club.
Scott Gifis ’96
Scott Gifis played multiple sports at Hun, but ice hockey was where he excelled. A two-time All-County and All-State selection, he captained the team as a junior and senior, earned both the Coach’s Award and Team MVP, and helped lead Hun to the New Jersey Prep State Championship his final year. That season, he led the team in goals, assists, and points and was named to the New Jersey All-State All-Star Team. After graduation, Mr. Gifis played Junior A hockey for two years before attending Skidmore College, where he competed in both hockey and lacrosse while earning degrees in business and English. His professional journey includes senior leadership roles such as president and COO of Frame.io, helping guide its $1.3B acquisition by Adobe, and president of AdRoll, where he led its transformation into a global marketing technology leader. Today, Mr. Gifis is the CEO of Wyllo, a leading technology company helping ecommerce merchants build safer, more seamless customer experiences. With more than two decades in leadership, he credits Hun as one of the most formative experiences of his life — shaping his approach to teamwork, resilience, and leadership. Mr. Gifis lives in New Jersey with his wife, Devon, and their three daughters — Kylie, Peyton, and Quinn.
Lucy DiPastina Jordan ’06
Lifelong tennis player Lucy DiPastina Jordan was a consistent and dedicated member of Hun’s tennis program, contributing to one of the most successful stretches in team history. As a four-year varsity starter and captain in her twelfth grade year, she combined individual excellence with a strong team commitment, embodying the principles of sportsmanship and leadership that define Hun athletics. As a team member, Ms. Jordan was a four-time Mercer County Tournament (MCT) Team Champion, a three-time Prep A Team Champion, and two-time MAPL Team Champion. Individually, she was a two-time MCT Third Singles Champion, a Prep A runner-up in Third Singles, an MCT Second Singles Champion, and a state runner-up in Second Singles. She was a three-time All-County and All-State Champion and a four-time MAPL Champion, receiving the Most Valuable Player Award during her undefeated ninth grade year and serving as team captain during her final year. Ms. Jordan went on to play tennis at The College of New Jersey, where she earned a bachelor of arts degree. In 2022, she returned to Hun as the head coach of the Hun’s varsity girls tennis team. She and her husband, Steven, have three children, Catherine, Steven, and Caroline.
Matt Loy ’06
Matt Loy earned five varsity letters at Hun — one in cross country and four in lacrosse. A four-year starter and senior co-captain, he became Hun’s all-time leading goal scorer and graduated with the fourth-highest career goal total in New Jersey boys lacrosse history, a record that still ranks among the state’s best. His talent earned him four All-Bianchi and four All-State honors, underscoring his consistency and leadership. Mr. Loy continued his athletic journey at Penn State, where he earned an athletic scholarship and competed for four years in Division I lacrosse and was recognized multiple times on the All–Big Ten Academic Team. Beyond lacrosse, Mr. Loy has dedicated more than fifteen years to Brazilian jiu-jitsu, earning his black belt in 2019 under UFC veteran David Branch. He now owns his own jiu-jitsu academy, where he shares his expertise and love for martial arts with adults and children. Mr. Loy worked in the financial and technology industries, where he served as an account manager and salesperson. Since 2020, he has worked at Morristown Beard School as an admission officer, Upper School advisor, and coach. Mr. Loy lives in Denville, New Jersey, with his wife, Linsey, and their daughters, Lennox and Lainey.
John Law, Former Coach
John Law’s influence at Hun extends far beyond the football sidelines. Known for his warm personality and unwavering dedication, he has been both a mentor and an ambassador for Hun. During his tenure as assistant and head varsity football coach (1991 - 2014), he shaped athletes not only as players, but as people. By developing future college athletes, mentoring fellow coaches, and fostering community, Mr. Law elevated the profile of Hun Athletics and left an enduring legacy of mentorship, sportsmanship, and care, along with four MAPL championships and seven state championships. A high school football standout at Holy Cross Academy, where he was named All South Jersey Lineman of the Year, he earned a full athletic scholarship to Rutgers University, playing on the undefeated team of 1976. He has been inducted into the Holy Cross Academy Football Hall of Fame and the Rutgers University Athletic Hall of Fame, and in 2015, was honored with the Delaware Valley Football Chapter Coaches Award for his years of service and leadership as a coach for the Sunshine Classic Football All-Star Game. Mr. Law, who has owned his own businesses for thirty-four years, is president of Law Enterprises. He and Denise, his wife of forty-four years, are the parents of Bridget, Kelly, and Johnny ’10.
