Stuart Eisenberg '57 Passes Away

Stuart Eisenberg '57 passed away on October 9, 2019. He attended The Hun School for his junior and senior years, but was known for his dedication and deep fondness for The Hun School. He was a member of both the Alumni Board and the Alumni Association Strategic Planning Committee. In 2012. Mr. Eisenberg was presented the Distinguished Alumnus award.

Stuart Eisenberg attended The Hun School from 1955 – 1957 as a resident student living in Russell Dormitory, where, during his senior year, he was a senior prefect.  He played football, basketball, and baseball, and in his senior year assisted Mr. Hawley Waterman in coaching junior varsity basketball.  He was a member of The Edgerstounian, was elected Editor-In-Chief in his senior year, and wrote a column for The Mall called “Eh! By Buttons.”

After graduation, Mr. Eisenberg attended Cornell University for two years when, after the death of his parents, he joined the United States Army in which he served from 1960 until 1962, receiving his Honorable Discharge in 1966.

While in the military, Mr. Eisenberg married his wife, Marsha, and returned to complete his education at Temple University School of Business, from which he graduated first in his class and as a President’s Scholar.  He went on to attend and graduate from Villanova School of Law in 1967. 

He is a founding partner with his daughter Carol B. McCullough, in the law practice of McCullough Eisenberg, LLC, which emphasizes Consumer Protection, Consumer and Business Bankruptcy, Real Estate and Fraud, and Wills & Estates.  In 2008, Mr. Eisenberg was inducted into the “Litigation Counsel of America, Trial Lawyer Honorary Society.”

Mr. Eisenberg is a former member of the American Red Cross,The Hun School of Princeton Alumni Board, and the Alumni Association Strategic Planning Committee. He has performed pro bono services for Community Legal Services of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Bucks County Legal Aid Society and co-authored manuals, most recently, Pennsylvania Foreclosure and Bankruptcy Practice for Paralegals.

He currently sits on the Board of Governors of the Rydal Meadowbrook Civic Association, and is a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, the Bar Association of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and the Eastern District Bankruptcy Conference.  Mr. Eisenberg is a Charter member of The Hun School Golden “H” Club.  The Golden H Club is an honorary society for alumni celebrating a Reunion of fifty years or more. He is also serving as a Special Reunion Ambassador for his 55th Reunion this, and is a class ambassador for the Class of 1957.

Mr. Eisenberg and his wife, Marsha, are devoted to their four children, Carol McCullough, Kathy Brady, Steven Eisenberg, and Michael Eisenberg, three of whom are attorneys, as well as to their beloved grandchildren, all of whom reside in Eastern Pennsylvania.

Mr. Eisenberg explained, “I have often said, Hun offered me the first opportunity in which I was given responsibility and trust, the building blocks of success in life.”
