Nina C. Tinari ’98 Hosts Philadelphia-Area Alumni Gathering

Nina Tinari ’98 is perpetually busy, and as President of Schulson Collective, it’s no wonder. Ms. Tinari and her husband, Chef Michael Schulson, run some of the hottest restaurants in Philadelphia, Atlantic City, and Florida. And, if running eleven restaurants did not seem challenging enough, the powerhouse couple has set their sights on additional expansion. ”We are always looking to expand into new markets,” says Ms. Tinari.

Despite their peripatetic lifestyle, Ms. Tinari always makes time for the important things, including family and her connection to The Hun School. She and Mr. Schulson recently hosted the Philadelphia-area Alumni Gathering at their latest Philadelphia hotspot, Giuseppe & Sons. They welcomed around 35 alumni, parents, and friends to the gathering, where Headmaster Jon Brougham and former Headmaster Jim Byer ’62 greeted guests.

Ms. Tinari recalled her time at The Hun School with a gleam in her eye. A highly competitive athlete who was recruited to play Division 1 lacrosse and soccer at Loyola University, Ms. Tinari proved her mettle early on at The Hun Middle School. She did not let the absence of a girls’ soccer team stop her; she played as a member of the boys’ team.

After college, Ms. Tinari channeled her passion into politics, working for Ed Rendell on his gubernatorial campaign and then later as his deputy director of communications and special assistant to the Governor. She went on to serve as Director of Government Relations for Wojdak & Associates, a diversified lobbying firm, before founding T2 Consulting, a political consultancy, before becoming President and partner of Schulson Collective nearly four years ago.
