Tuition and Financial Aid

For more than 100 years, The Hun School has been committed to making its educational opportunities available to students without regard to the financial resources of their families. Our admission process is need-blind. Students are admitted based on ability and character. Once the admission process is complete, we then review and offer financial aid to families with a demonstrated need.

Since more students apply for financial aid than the School can support, a student's academic and co-curricular activities are also considered in the financial aid evaluation process.

Because financial circumstances can change, families must apply for aid annually. Assistance is continued each subsequent year if the family's financial statement indicates continued need and the student remains in good standing in all aspects of school life.  It is important to meet deadlines since the School does not hold funds in reserve for those who apply late or fail to meet the designated schedule.

Financial Aid Process for New Applicants and Returning Families

The Hun School grants financial assistance in accordance with the principles established by the National Association of Independent Schools and as administered by Tuition Aid Data Services (TADS) or School & Student Services by NAIS (SSS). Please note, financial aid decisions are made by The Hun School's Financial Aid Committee and based upon the analysis provided by TADS or SSS.

Because financial circumstances can change, families must apply for aid annually.

Applications for financial aid should be submitted to TADS by January 31st.

Financial aid decisions will be included with the March 10th letters of acceptance.

Any questions about financial aid or the process of applying for aid may be directed to the Financial Aid Office at financialaid@hunschool.org.
