Ms. Bottega joins The Hun School as a teaching fellow this year. She is a graduate of Lafayette College where she earned a B.S in Environmental Science. Along with her work in Conservation Biology, Oceanography, Environmental Chemistry and Geology, she also received the Germanoski Student Award in Earth and Environmental Science. Prior experience also includes work as an AmeriCorps Member at the Teton Science School in Jackson Hole, Wyoming where Ms. Bottega assisted their field education program with visiting school groups to build increased capacity for STEM literacy and received training in lesson planning and design.
Mr. Huffman joins The Hun School as a Computer Science teacher. Mr. Huffman earned a B.A degree in Computer Science from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota. Prior to Hun, he served as a K-8 Computer Science teacher at Busan Foreign School in South Korea, where he was responsible for developing curriculum and teaching Middle School and elementary computer science courses, as well as serving as a Middle School coach for Futsal and eSports. Additional experience includes volunteering as an Advanced ESL teacher for adult language learners, primarily Hispanic and Somali students for the Minnesota Literacy Council.
Mrs. Ostrowsky joins The Hun School as the new Director of Counseling and Wellness. Mrs. Ostrowsky earned her Master of Social Work degree from Columbia University as well as a B.A in Government from Cornell University. Prior to The Hun School, Mrs. Ostrowsky served as School Counselor and Peer Leadership Program Advisor at the Pingry School where she helped lead diversity and inclusion programs as well as designed and taught Wellness classes. Prior experience also includes serving as Middle School Dean for Student Culture, History teacher, advisor, and coach of three sports at the Pingry School.
Mr. Page joins The Hun School as a teaching fellow this year. Mr. Page earned a B.S in Communication Studies with a minor in Business Administration from Rowan University. Prior experience includes work as a Promotions Coordinator for Hot 97 in Manhattan, as well as running his own charity events, organizing football camps for youth, and working with several NFL players on their summer camps.
James V. Stagnitta
Mr. Stagnitta joins The Hun School’s Athletic Department as head coach for the Varsity Boys’ Lacrosse team. He comes to us with thirty-two years of college and professional coaching experience. Prior collegiate level experience includes coaching at University of Pennsylvania, Arcadia University, Rutgers University, and Washington and Lee University. On the professional level, Coach Stagnitta previously served as head coach for Major League Lacrosse team, the Denver Outlaws, assistant coach and offensive coordinator to the Florida Launch, and head coach of the Charlotte Hounds. He is currently the head coach of the Whipsnakes of the Premiere Lacrosse League.
Dr. Cresson joins The Hun School as a Latin and literature teacher in the Modern Languages and Classics Department. Dr. Cresson earned his B.A in Classics and Ancient History from Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan, Italy and his doctorate in Classics From Columbia University. Prior experience includes teaching Latin and Italian literature at a small private school in Italy. Dr. Cresson is also an experienced Latin, Ancient Greek, Italian, and History tutor at the Middle and Upper school level. Dr. Cresson is most excited to get involved in extracurricular activities as well as build meaningful relationships with Hun students and his colleagues.
Mr. Obwoge joins The Hun School as a History and Civics teacher. Mr. Obwoge is a graduate of Rutgers University and is currently pursuing his Masters degree at Columbia University. Prior experience includes teaching at Eagle Academy for Young Men Newark, Harlem Children’s Zone Promise Academy, and Innovation High School. Mr. Obwoge enjoys reading, art, basketball, photography, GoKarting, and learning about other cultures. Mr. Obwoge is looking forward to meeting and having discussions with students regarding current events and the issues facing America and the rest of the world.
