New Parent Dinner
Sponsored by the Parents Association, this early autumn welcome dinner is a way for new parents to meet each other and Parent Board members during a lovely dinner in the School’s dining hall. Hun School administrators provide an overview of The Hun School experience and a few current students offer their perspective to new parents.
Coffee with Hun Administrative Team (CHAT)
CHAT is a monthly morning coffee for parents featuring various Hun School administrators. These sessions provide an opportunity for informal dialogue and idea sharing. Guest speakers address topics that are specific to programs that enrich the lives of students at The Hun School.

Parent Cocktail Parties
Together with the Advancement Office, the Parents’ Association organizes casual class gatherings in the autumn for parents to socialize with one another.
Faculty and Staff Appreciation Luncheon
This annual autumn event is a great way for parents to show appreciation for the approximately 175 members of The Hun School faculty and staff. Parent volunteers transform Russell Lounge into a themed dining experience with an extensive buffet of homemade main dishes, salads, and desserts. Parents organize the entire event starting with choosing a theme, creating invitations, decorating, cooking and baking, and serving the food. Parents enjoy meeting and working with each other while providing an exquisite luncheon for those whom we appreciate so much!

Parents' Association Fundraising Event
Organized by two parent co-chairs with support from the Parent Relations Office and an extensive volunteer committee which combines creativity, energy, and talent to make this long standing traditional event a fun way to make friends while raising much needed funds for the School! It is now held in early spring and in the Hun Athletic Center.

Class Assistants
Organized by a Parent Board representative, parent volunteers work with each class and its dean to provide assistance as necessary, primarily with food and beverages during Homecoming in the fall.

CommonGround
The Hun School is a member of CommonGround, a local independent school consortium made up of two parent representatives from each school. It develops and funds an annual parent lecture series featuring notable experts in the fields of education and parenting. The lectures are hosted by participating schools on a rotating basis and are free and open to the public. For this year’s program visit princetoncommonground.org.

Faculty Grant Program
After working hard to raise money for the School, the Faculty Grant Program identifies innovative teachers and classroom initiatives to support that benefit all students. Organized by a committee of parents, staff, and the Dean of Faculty, teachers are given the opportunity to submit an application for an educational program, encouraging active learning. Grants are awarded based on an established rubric and evaluative metrics.

Golf and Tennis Outing
The Jim Byer ’62 Classic golf and tennis outing is a beloved School tradition held each spring at Cherry Valley Country Club. This outing brings together golfers, tennis players, and spectators in a fun-filled day competition and sport, culminating in a cocktail reception and awards dinner open to all. On this day, the spirit of competition is outdone only by the spirit of dedication to The Hun School! Event, corporate, golf hole, and court sponsors are recognized as strong loyal supporters of the School while prizes and contests keep the day fun for everyone. The event is organized by a creative parent committee with support from the Parent Relations Office and Cherry Valley Country Club.

International Family Outreach Task Force
This committee is focused on enhancing communication with international parents and drawing them more fully into The Hun School community. Parent volunteers with bilingual capabilities work with the School to translate letters and materials and provide information about the School in several foreign languages. The committee also provides guidance on cultural awareness strategies to connect to international families.

Middle School Coordinator
The Middle School Parent Board representative keeps the board advised on activities in the Middle School. Other duties involve organizing the sizing, ordering, and delivery of the fleece sweatshirts to all Middle School students and coordinating Middle School parent volunteers for cupcake and pizza parties and social activities during the year.
Resident Life Committee
The mission of the Resident Life Committee is to assist and welcome the families of newly enrolled resident students and to develop programs and activities that encourage interaction among resident and day students. The committee works with the director of resident life to promote awareness and appreciation of geographic and cultural differences found at The Hun School of Princeton.
Senior Parent Reception
Sponsored by the Parents’ Association, this parent reception is held during the week prior to graduation, providing parents with an opportunity to gather with friends and the School administrators in Russell Lounge before their child officially becomes an alumnus of the School.
