Hun School Artists Earn Exhibits

Three student-artists from The Hun School of Princeton recently had their original artwork selected for two prestigious exhibitions. The Congressional Institute selected Marien Wilkinson’s ’13 photograph for exhibition as part of the Annual Congressional Art Competition. Additionally, The College of New Jersey selected pieces from Samantha Troilo ’14 and Elizabeth Mydlowski ’14 for the upcoming K-12 New Jersey Student Art exhibition.

Hun School Relay Teams Qualify for Nationals

Two mixed medley relay teams from The Hun School of Princeton recently qualified for the New Balance Nationals Outdoor Track and Field competition. The team of James Frazier ’13, Pieter Melotte ’14, Christopher Sharp ’15, and Harrison Whelan ’13 ran the 800-meter event in a time of 1:39.76, eclipsing the qualification time by over six seconds. The team of Erica Brown ’14, Courtney Caldwell ’14, Marliegh Nociti ’16 and Deanna Washington ’13 ran the event in a time of 1:56.18, nearly eight seconds under the qualification. Both teams qualified at the Mercer County Twilight Invitational on May 4th. The National races are hosted by North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro, North Carolina and will be held June 14 - 16th.

Parents’ Association Golf and Tennis Outing a Success

Eighty golfers, fifteen tennis players, and four bocce rollers participated in the Annual Jim Byer ’62 Invitational Golf and Tennis Outing, held at Cherry Valley Country Club on Monday, May 13th. The events of the warm spring afternoon transitioned seamlessly to a beautiful evening reception and awards banquet, which brought together over one hundred members of The Hun School community. There, Event Chair Lex Kochmann emceed the event and distributed awards from the afternoon activities.

Brandon Coleman ’13 Honored at Cherish the Children Awards Dinner

Hun School senior Brandon Coleman ’13 was recognized on Sunday, April 28th by the Mercer County Commission on Abused, Neglected, and the Missing Children and Cherish the Children Foundation for his volunteer work with HiTOPs. Brandon has facilitated over 200 hours of workshops that encourage youth to live healthy, responsible, and empowered lives. As a facilitator, Brandon helps youth to explore issues such as morality, prejudice, and sexuality particularly as it pertains to individuals who self-identify as lesbian, bi-sexual, gay, or transgender.
