Personal Information

I started teaching at The Hun School in...

I coach and advise...

the Hun Dance Company and I choreograph the winter musicals.

My family and pets...

My son, AJ, a Hun alumnus, is a senior at the University of San Francisco, where he majors in psychology. I love to visit him there! My two rambunctious baby goldens, Honey and Bear, keep me moving. I’m out walking them every morning at 5:45, even in the cold and the rain. Chairman Meow, my cantankerous black cat, rules over their antics and those of their “brother”, Sherman the German the dachshund.

My favorite course in college was....

all of them except math and science.

My first job was...

teaching ballet.

If I wasn't teaching, I would be....

My favorite Dining Hall meal is...

the baked potatoes.

I teach because...

I think literature reflects the human experience since the beginning of time, and the more we help each other reflect upon and learn from that experience, the richer all of our lives will be.

The last book that I read was...and the music currently playing on my MP3 player is...

Book: I just finished one lyrical but disturbing book, A Thousand Splendid Suns, and one just for fun book recommended to me by Ms. Kittle, Water for Elephants. I liked the last one so much that I bought Gruen’s latest, The Ape House. Of course, I’m always re-reading the texts for class. I can always find new life insights when I read books another time..or two.

Music: Groove Lily and Brazilian chorinhos like those by Luis Simas
