Academic Learning Skills Program

The Hun School of Princeton’s Academic Learning Skills Program (ALS Program) offers specialized instruction, within the context of a college preparatory curriculum, to students with professionally diagnosed learning differences. Enrollment in the ALS Program is limited to 25 students. All participants in the Program receive daily individualized instruction while taking mainstream academic courses. The goal of the Program is to assist capable and motivated students who have mild learning differences by addressing individual deficiencies and developing the strategies necessary to meet academic challenges with confidence. ALS instructors work with classroom teachers to create the best possible learning environment for the student.

Students who apply to the ALS Program must follow the application procedures outlined by The Hun School Admissions Office. Additionally, candidates are required to provide a psycho-educational evaluation that documents their learning difference and includes the WISC subtest scores. Consistent with the mission of The Hun School of Princeton, the ALS Program accepts students with varying learning styles and provides instruction by implementing an Individualized Educational Plan, which is student-centered and dedicated to the growth and development of the individual. An additional fee is charged for this program.
