Technology
The Hun School has a commitment to providing access to appropriate technology to enhance the learning experience of our students. In the Middle School, emphasis is on learning how to use technology responsibly and productively. Classrooms have wireless access, and most rooms are outfitted with Smart Board installations. Teachers routinely integrate spreadsheet, publication and presentation software into classroom activities, and students are encouraged to creatively incorporate technology into their work.
In addition, students receive guided instruction in Computer class for one marking period at each grade level. In this interactive class, participants develop and apply skills relevant to keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and desktop publishing. Activities like the Stock Market project challenge students to apply skills to collect and display current data, and they explore the impact of recent technological advances through current events research.
