Community Service
Encouraging and challenging adolescents to appreciate the world outside themselves is an important thread throughout our program. The idea of service to others is actively promoted through a wide variety of activities in support of those in need in the greater Princeton community and beyond, and there is an expectation that all middle school students participate in some way. Often the projects are inspired by what is discussed in class, and are generated by students themselves who organize and carry out the activities. In the past year, projects included our annual Swimsuit Drive to benefit the summer camp at Home Front, care packages for service people in Iraq, and a “Walk for Water” to highlight the distances women in African countries must travel on a daily basis to search for water for their families.
